Slay the Spire 2 Multiplayer Scaling — How Co-op Difficulty Works
Updated 2026-06-02
How Co-op Scaling Works
Slay the Spire 2 supports up to three players in co-op. Enemy HP, damage, and action patterns scale based on how many players are in the game. A two-player run is harder than solo but easier than three-player.
| Players | Enemy HP Multiplier | Damage Multiplier | Elite Spawn Rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 (Solo) | 1.0x | 1.0x | Standard |
| 2 | 1.5x | 1.3x | Increased |
| 3 | 2.0x | 1.6x | High |
Each player has their own deck, health, potions, and relics. Gold and card rewards are individual too. But you share the same map and vote on which path to take. If one player dies, the others can revive them at the next rest site for 50% HP cost. The Heart fight gets more HP and new multi-target attacks in co-op.
Reviving costs HP from the surviving player. Don't let your friend die twice in one act or you will both run out of HP.
FAQ
- Can I play co-op with random players?
- Yes. There is matchmaking. You can also invite friends via Steam.
- Is co-op easier than solo?
- No. Enemy scaling keeps up. A coordinated team has an easier time, but two randoms fighting over the map will struggle more than a solo player.
- Do both players need to own StS2?
- Yes. Each player needs their own copy. No shared-screen or local co-op yet.
