Slay the Spire 2 Tinker Time — New Mechanic Explained
Updated 2026-06-02
Slay the Spire 2 Tinker Time — What Is It?
Tinker Time is a brand new mechanic in Slay the Spire 2. It lets you delay your next draw by one turn in exchange for a bonus. Think of it as a mini-mental pause button.
When you activate Tinker Time, your current hand stays in play for an extra turn. You don't draw new cards. In exchange, you get a benefit — usually extra energy, block, or a card discount on your next turn.
| Class | Tinker Time Bonus |
|---|---|
| Ironclad | +1 Strength next turn |
| Silent | Draw 2 extra cards next turn |
| Defect | Generate 2 random orbs |
| Necrobinder | Heal 3 HP |
| Pyroclast | Gain 2 Forge charges |
Tinker Time is best when you have a bad hand and the enemy is setting up a big attack. Holding bad cards for a turn is better than dying.
Not every run needs Tinker Time. Some decks are fast enough that delaying is a waste. But on higher ascensions, knowing when to hold is a real skill.
FAQ
- Can I use Tinker Time every turn?
- No. There's a cooldown of 3 turns between uses. You can't spam it.
- Does Tinker Time work against all enemies?
- Yes, but it's most useful against enemies with predictable attack patterns.
- Does Tinker Time stack with other buffs?
- Yes. The bonus you get stacks with other sources. A Pyroclast with Forge relics can get massive value from Tinker Time.
